On April 17, 2023, a meeting of the Interacademic Council on promising areas of development of the Union State was held via video link under the chairmanship of First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NAS of Belarus Sergei Chizhik, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladislav Panchenko and Deputy Secretary of State of the Union State Alexey Kubrin.

The participants of the event discussed the preparation of the draft Agenda of the Joint Meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, which will be held in May. During the meeting, the scientists agreed on the need to finalize the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Union State. The issue of conducting an examination of the Union State programs was also discussed.
